Elliott Partners With CitiHope International To Donate Medicine To the Dominican Republic

March 5, 2007
The Elliott Foundation announced today a new partnership with CitiHope International, to distribute almost $300,000 USD worth of medicine to the Puerto Plata area of the Dominican Republic. The medicines, which include antibacterial drugs as well as folic acid vitamins, will be airlifted to the area in March 2007. CitiHope International and The Elliott Foundation will then work to distribute the materials to local medical institutions and physicians. “We are blessed and honored with the opportunity to support CitiHope’s mission assisting those in need in the Dominican Republic,” said Derek Elliott, Co-Founder of the Elliott Foundation and President and CEO of Elliott. “Since the opening of our first Dominican Republic resort Sun Village Resort & Spa Cofresi, we have become very involved in the local Puerto Plata community. Funding a CitiHope mission helps us make lives healthier and more comfortable in an impoverished community that, despite a recent explosion in tourism, still needs so much.”
